Install Beta Versions

iOS

As registered client you will receive an email invitation from TestFlight. If you did not receive an invitation request one via Service Desk.

Android

Android Beta versions can only be distributed to Google Play Store registered email-addresses.

Prerequisits

Prepare for testing by making sure that:

  • you have installed the latest version
    For iOS shut down the TestFlight app, reboot it and control if "open" is displayed on the app detail page
    For Android delete the current version on your device and reload the APK by using the provided DropBox Link
    When the app is already live make sure you test the live version (not the TestFlight version)
  • your testing device is connected sufficiently to the internet
  • your test device has sufficient memory
  • your test device is running the latest OS versions

Report bugs

  • use the appropriate Service Desk requests ("bug-fix" and "Live bug-fix" for immediate repsonse)
  • as title state the expected behaviour (e.g. "login with facebook should work" in stead of simply "facebook")
  • state device and OS version
  • state app version
  • state step-by-step guide on how to reproduce the bug
  • provide screenshots or URLs if possible

Guideline for testing

  • correct app icon
  • correct app shortname (under icon)
  • correct grpahical assets (launch screen, header)
  • correct styling (colors, font)
  • correct homescreen configuration
  • up-to-date content
  • working map (show exhibitor on map)
  • working social sharing
  • working push message (ATTENTION when app is live already)
  • correct wordings/localisation

  • set intetests/topics

Retrieve crash log from device

iOS

Your users can retrieve crash reports from their device and send them to you via email by following these instructions.

(It is not possible to get device console logs directly from a device)

1) Open Settings app

2) Go to Privacy, then Diagnostics & Usage

3) Select Diagnostics & Usage Data

4) Locate the log for the crashed app. The logs will be named in the format: <AppName><DateTime><DeviceName>

5) Select the desired log. Then, using the text selection UI select the entire text of the log. Once the text is selected, tap Copy

6) Paste the copied text to Mail and send to an email address as desired
